Wine Notes
|
Matariki 1999 Late Harvest Riesling
|
Harvest
The grapes were from the Stony Bay vineyard. The fruit was harvested on the 03/04/99. The grapes had approximately 20 to 30 % botrytis infections.
Composition
100 % Riesling.
Sensory
Colour: Deep yellow with brilliant clarity. Aroma: Perfumed aromas of sweet passionfruit with a hint of botrytis apricot characters. Palate: Sweet and fruit driven, but has a strong dose of acid that balances the palate and adds freshness. More late harvest in style than traditional botrytis style. Will develop and gain more complexity with age.
Cellaring
4 to 7 years.
