Harvest The grapes were hand picked from the Gimblett Road Vineyard. Individual sections of the block were picked separately according to flavour and analytical analysis. Vinification The grapes were whole bunched pressed and the juice was lightly clarified. Fermentation was carried out in predominantly new French oak barrels. A small portion of the barrels underwent MLF while the remaining barrels were sulphured and lees stirred monthly. After 11 months barrel aging the wine was extracted from the barrels and fined, cold stabilised and filtered. Composition The wine is 100% Mendoza Chardonnay from Gimblett Road. Bottling The wine was bottled on the 4th March 1999. Sensory Colour: Brilliant clarity. Medium yellow in colour. Cellaring 3 to 5 years. |
